SETUP


Step 1. Connections


Connect the Mixdeck Quad with your computer using the provided USB cable.
Connect your speakers to the rear Master Output using proper RCA cables and your Headphones to the front socket.

Step 2. Drivers


No drivers are required to be installed. The Numark Mixdeck Quad is a USB Class Compliant device and your Operating system will automatically install the necessary drivers when the unit is connected to your computer.

Step 3. VirtualDJ


Install VirtualDJ 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials.

A Pro Infinity or a Pro Subscription License is required. http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Detection Window
A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ.

Click on the "Use Soundcard" button so that VirtualDJ will apply the pre-defined audio configuration (speakers need to be connected to the Master Output of the unit)

Click to OK



Make sure that the channels on the mixer section of the MixDeck Quad are set to USB MIDI and you have toggled each CD player to MIDI mode via the SOURCE button.

The Mixdeck Quad is now ready to operate with VirtualDJ
 

MIXER CONTROLS






KEY

ACTION

1 CROSSFADER
Blends audio signals from left and right assigned mixer channels
2 VOLUME
Adjust Volume Output of each mixer channel
3 CF ASSIGN
Select if a mixer channel will be assigned on the left (A position) or right (B position) side of the crossfader or its output will not be affected by the crossfader position (THRU position)
4 CUE/PFL
Send the audio signal of a Mixer Channel to the Headphones Channel
5 EQ BASS
Adjust the Equalizer Low Band frequencies (Bass) of each mixer channel
6 EQ MID
Adjust the Equalizer Middle Band frequencies of each mixer channel
7 EQ HIGH
Adjust the Equalizer High Band frequencies (Treble) of each mixer channel
8 GAIN
Adjust the pre-fader Output level (Gain) of each mixer channel
9 CH SOURCE
Select the Source of each mixer channel. Set to USB MIDI position to select and control a VirtualDJ deck from a mixer channel
10 CUE MIX
Blends audio signal in Headphones Channel between the Master Output (when in maximum position) and the channels that have PFL/CUE enabled
11 CUE GAIN
Adjust the Output Level of the Headphones Channel
12 BOOTH VOL
Adjust the Level of the Booth Output
13 MASTER VOL
Adjust the Level of the Master Output



 

DECK CONTROLS

14 CUE
Sets a Temporary Cue when paused and plays track from Cue. Jumps track to Cue point when playing
15 PAUSE
Pauses deck when playing. Cycles through Hotcues when paused
16 PLAY
Plays-stutter track
17 SEARCH
Set Jogwheel to Seek (Search) mode for fast track searching
18 SCRATCH
Toggles between Scratch (Vinyl) and Bend (CD) modes for the Jogwheel
19 JOG
Touch-sensitive jogwheel for scratch, bend or seek, depending on the selected mode
20 EJECT
When in Software mode, swaps left/right decks . When used on the left side swaps control between Decks 1 and 3 and when used on Right side, swaps control between Decks 2 and 4
21 START TIME
Define the time will take for the track to catch-up full speed when played
22 STOP TIME
Define the time will take for the track to completely stop when paused
23 TAP
Manual Beat Tap
24 REV/BLEEP
Set switcher to Reverse to play track in reverse. While switcher is set to Bleep, track will play in reverse and when released track will resume to the position it would have been if never pressed.
25 PITCH BEND
Temporary slow-down/speed-up track. Tempo will resume to the value designated by the Pitch fader when released
26 PITCH
Adjust track's tempo
27 RANGE
Select a -/+% range for the Pitch fader (5%, 12%, 25% and 100%) . Hold down for more than 2 seconds to enable/disable Keylock (Master Tempo)
28 FX
Turn the selected Effect On/off
29 WET/DRY
Adjust the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect
30 PARAMETER
Adjust the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect
31 FX SELECT
Slide to left/right to select the previous/next Effect
32 TIME/SOURCE
TIME: Toggle between Remain and Elapsed Time mode for the Time LCD Display
SOURCE : Make sure the MIDI is selected to control a VirtualDJ Deck
33 BUT 1
Assign or trigger (if assigned) Hotcue 1
Delete Hotcue 1 when in Delete mode
Trigger Sample 1 when in Sampler mode
Records deck to a new Sample when in Save mode
34 BUT 2
Assign or trigger (if assigned) Hotcue 2
Delete Hotcue 2 when in Delete mode
Trigger Sample 2 when in Sampler mode
Records deck to a new Sample when in Save mode
35 BUT 3
Assign or trigger (if assigned) Hotcue 3
Delete Hotcue 3 when in Delete mode
Trigger Sample 3 when in Sampler mode
Records deck to a new Sample when in Save mode
36 MODE/REC
REC : Enable Save mode for BUTS 1 to 3
When MODE is pressed, REC button toggles between Sampler and Hotcue modes
37 LOOPIN
Set a Loop In (Entry) point for a manual loop
38 LOOPOUT
Set a Loop Out (Exit) point for a manual loop or exit loop when enabled
39 RELOOP
Triggers the last enabled loop. Exit loop when loop is enabled. Set Jogwheel to Loop Move Adjust mode when MODE is pressed
40 LOOP SHIFT
Slide to left/right to half/double the size of the Loop
41 RECALL
Open/close File Info window (Tag Editor) for the loaded track
41 MODE DECK
Not used in Midi mode
43 BACK
Set focus to Folders List. Open/close subfolder when focus in on Folders list
44 TRACK
Scrolls through files or folders
Push to load the selected track. When in Folders list set focus to Songs list if foldercontains tracks or select next folder/subfolder if not
45 LCD DISPLAY
Displays Track's info such as Artist, title, BPM, Pitch, Time and a Progress bar
